Address registration (zameldowanie) is registration at your place of residence. Formally, the obligation to register still exists. Fines for not doing it are almost never imposed, but not being registered causes problems in everyday life.<\/p>\n
Registration confirms your address where the address matters: when you enrol a child in a local school or kindergarten, when you go to a local clinic, and when you apply for some benefits.<\/p>\n
In legalization cases, address registration is not a required document, but proof of your place of residence is needed almost always. Registration is the simplest way to provide it. The alternative is a rental agreement.<\/p>\n
One more practical point: the address given in your case is the address where letters from the voivodeship office will come. A missed letter costs more than any formality, so the address must be real and reachable.<\/p>\n
