What is the red stamp in my passport

It is a stamp confirming that your case has been accepted for processing. It confirms your legal stay in Poland until a decision is made, but it does not give you the right to re-enter from third countries.

What happens if I change jobs after applying

You must inform the voivodeship office about the change of employer and submit new documents. If you do not, the decision will be based on outdated information and will most likely be negative.

How long is a work-based residence card valid

Up to three years, but the exact period is set by the voivode (wojewoda) based on the contract and the grounds. The card is often issued for exactly the period of the work permit.

Can I apply if my visa has already expired

No. You can only apply while your stay is legal. If it has already expired, the situation is more complicated and must be reviewed separately and urgently.

Residence card based on work

A residence card (karta pobytu) based on work is the most common basis for legalising your stay in Poland. It is issued for up to three years and is tied to a specific employer and position, so changing jobs after you apply requires separate steps.
